‘Indiana Jones 5’ Set To Be Harrison Ford And John Williams’ Last Film

John Williams recently let slip that both himself and Harrison Ford plan to retire from film after Indiana Jones 5.

Lucasfilm finally lifted the lid on Indiana Jones 5 at the recent Star Wars Celebration. Admittedly, all we have to go on is a single still which shows a silhouetted Harrison Ford in the iconic fedora but it sure is good to see Indy back in action

Much of the film’s plot is being kept under wraps but we do know that filming took place in Scotland, England, Italy, and Morocco so we can expect another globetrotting adventure and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Toby Jones, and Antonio Banderas are all set to join the cast. It’s now been revealed though that Indiana Jones 5 could be both Harrison Ford and John Williams’ final film project.

Speaking of Lucasfilm, are you excited for Star Wars: Andor? Check out the epic trailer below as we await the series premiere on 31 August.

John Williams is an icon, as I’m sure you know. This legendary composer is the mastermind behind so many of our favourite film scores including those of Star Wars, Jaws, Jurassic Park, Harry Potter and of course Indiana Jones. In a recent interview, Williams teased that he plans to step back from film alongside Indiana Jones himself, Harrison Ford.

Speaking to the Associated Press, Williams said, “At the moment I’m working on Indiana Jones 5, which Harrison Ford — who’s quite a bit younger than I am — I think has announced will be his last film so I thought: If Harrison can do it, then perhaps I can, also.” Ford hasn’t actually confirmed that publicly, so Williams may have prematurely let the cat out of the bag.

Williams isn’t fully retiring though as he hopes to continue working on concert music. A few weeks ago, Lucasfilm interestingly confirmed that they’re not interested in carrying on the Indiana Jones franchise without Harrison Ford. If this is to be Ford’s final film, then it looks like it will also be Indy’s swansong.
