With rumours and leaks swirling like never before, it looks as if we're getting closer and closer to the long-awaited reveal of the Hogwarts Legacy release date.
Fans have been dying to know exactly when they can get their hands on the Harry Potter RPG since its reveal way back in 2020. Unfortunately, developer Avalanche Software hasn't had anything to show us since that first trailer. Presumably because it's busy actually working on the game, which, y'know... is a good thing.
The good news, it seems, is that we're going to be learning a lot more about Hogwarts Legacy this year. Last month Warner Bros. debunked the concerning rumours that Hogwarts Legacy would be delayed into 2023, and maintained that the game is on track for a 2022 release date.

Not long after that, Twitter user AccountNGT, who leaked Star Wars: Eclipse last year and shot down the Hogwarts Legacy delay reports before Warner Bros., came out and suggested that a September release date is looking increasingly likely.
Lending further credence to these reports is the impending release of an upcoming behind-the-scenes book that details the making of the game. As reported by The Rowling Library, a book called The Art And Making Of Hogwarts Legacy is expected to launch September 6, making a September release date for the game all the more feasible.
It's also been pointed out by fans that September 1 is known as "Return To Hogwarts Day", as in the world of Harry Potter the first day of September is also the first day of term at Hogwarts. Clearly this would make September 1 the perfect day to launch Hogwarts Legacy. AccountNGT has also added they believe this date is looking "increasingly likely".
