Hogwarts Legacy free downloads announced to celebrate game's launch

It’s 7 February which just so happens to be a very important date in the Wizarding World calendar. Those who have pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition of Hogwarts Legacy on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S will now have early access to the game with PC users joining in the fun later on today.

If you opted for the Standard Edition, you’ll have to wait until Friday to embark on your wizarding adventure. One developer previously said that it could take up to 120 hours to see all that Hogwarts Legacy has to offer, but you could nab the Platinum trophy in around 70 hours. Reviews have landed and Hogwarts Legacy has an impressive score of 85 (PS5) on Metacritic. If you’re itching to get stuck in, you’ll probably be interested in grabbing this launch-exclusive freebie that’ll soon become available.

As reported by ComicBook, WB Games and Avalanche Software have revealed a series of freebies that’ll be dropped via Twitch. To get involved, you’ll need a Twitch account plus you’ll need to make sure Twitch drops are on. Then, simply watch a Hogwarts Legacy stream for 30 minutes and you’ll be awarded a free gift. There are four up for grabs which means you’ll need to watch two hours worth of streamed content in total.

I’m sure you’re keen to find out what those freebies are. Those who participate will be rewarded with the following cosmetics: Silver-Eyed Dragon Spectacles, Carmine Bol Lightning Scarf, Urchin Hat, and Lilac Assemble. I have to say, the Lilac Ensemble is very dapper but I’d have to say the Carmine Bol Lightning Scarf is my favourite.

Once the items are in your Twitch inventory, visit your WB Games account connection page and here you can link to your Twitch account to redeem any items in-game. There’s one more freebie which is perhaps the coolest of the lot. If you tune into the official Hogwarts Legacy launch stream, you can unlock Merlin’s Cloak.
