Hogwarts Legacy players temper expectations as new release is teased

The fans clearly don't have any goodwill left for the game if they're already bored by a teaser

A bunch of new content is reportedly about to drop for Hogwarts Legacy, but don't get too excited Harry Potter fans because folks online already aren't too impressed with what's (potentially) on offer.

As initially revealed by Tom Henderson over at Insider Gaming, a new "Definitive Edition" of Hogwarts Legacy is apparently on its way. Henderson's sources claim that the new content will feature "10-15 hours" worth of new content, and that the extras featured in the new edition will also find its way onto storefronts as DLC in the future.

The new content is supposed to drop sometime in 2025, but even though the details regarding it are sparse, people are already tempering their expectations.

In a post titled "Don't get too excited about Definitive Edition" over on r/HarryPotterGame, user odoggin012 wanted to make sure that fans of the game aren't getting too ahead of themselves and warned them about what might be featured in the new update.

"Just remember back in February," stated odoggin012, "For the game's one year anniversary, they announced a summer update would be coming as a thank you to the fans."

"Four months after that announcement, all we got was photo mode and an exclusive quest unlocked on all platforms ... I'm a huge fan of the game but those asking for an overhaul, I think you'll be disappointed. I wouldn't count on new game plus. There are many, many main story quests that would break if you could just Avada Kedavra your way through it."

It seems most fans agree too, at least going by every other comment in the thread.

"I find the announcement a little underwhelming to be honest," replied Friendly_Zebra. "They say it adds 10-15 hours of new gameplay, but only one story quest. So I guess either it’s a really long quest, or most of the expansion will just be filler."

We'll have to wait and see what they add, but it's clear that the fanbase isn't thrilled with what's been offered so far. Warner Bros will have to pull something out of the bag if they want to earn back some good will.
