Hitman: World of Assassination is getting a big update later this month, with an unexpected celebrity crossover is due to take place.

Over the past 8 years, IO Interactive has steadily released regular content for its Hitman games in the form of new missions, unlocks, and various quality-of-life updates.

It’s quite different from other live service games such as Call of Duty and Fortnite since it doesn’t have a multiplayer component, however, it certainly still qualifies as one.

As part of its dedication to releasing new content, the next Hitman: World of Assassination update drops later this month and comes with a surprise celebrity crossover appearance.

Here's the kind of shenanigans you can expect with Hitman.

Belgian actor and martial artist Jean-Claude Van Damme is the next target in Agent 47’s crosshairs, coming as part of The Splitter Elusive Target mission.

Taking place in Chongqing, Van Damme plays Max Valliant, a former ICA operative cut loose by the organisation and presumed dead for many years. Now it’s up to you to eliminate him once and for all.

Jean-Claude Van Damme appeared in iconic '80s and '90s action movies like Bloodsport, Double Impact, and Timecop. He would later appear in franchises like The Expendables and Kung Fu Panda.

The Splitter is the latest in a line of celebrity appearances Hitman has hosted since 2016. Van Damme joins the likes of Sean Bean, Gary Busey, and Jason Isaacs, who have appeared in the past either playing themselves or a character in the game’s universe.

While The Splitter Elusive Target is available to play for free, IO Interactive is also dropping a paid DLC pack on the same day. The pack features a new suit and some items to take with you on missions.

It will also kick off the game’s Season of the Splitter, featuring regular content drops of new featured contracts, challenges, and returning Elusive Targets. A new Twitch Drop campaign is also expected to launch during this timeframe.

The Splitter Elusive Target is available to play in Hitman: World of Assassination on 12th December 2024, and will run until 12th January 2025.
