Henry Cavill's next role is something fans have been begging for

Henry Cavill is currently attached to star in and produce an Amazon series based on the Warhammer 40K universe, according to a new report.

It's been a wild few weeks for poor old Cavill. First it was confirmed that the actor would be returning as Superman. Then, it was revealed that he was leaving Netflix's The Witcher for reasons that still remain unclear.

As if that wasn't enough of a rollercoaster, earlier this week it was announced that Cavill isn't coming back as the Man Of Steel after all, and that DC's next Superman project will move ahead with a different actor.

A lot of Cavill's fans have taken to social media to express sympathy. Losing two dream roles in the space of a month, even if one of them was by choice, has to be tough. The good news, however, is that the actor may already have his next project lined up - and it's something he's truly passionate about.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cavill is to star in and produce a series based on Warhammer 40K for Amazon. For those that don't know (although I imagine most of the nerds reading this are well aware), Warhammer 40K is a tabletop game that takes place in a horrifying future where multiple factions are constantly at war with one another. There's a rich, deep lore in this universe, and it's a well-known fact that Cavill is bloody obsessed.

There are very few details on the Warhammer series right now, save for the fact that Cavill is apparently in line for it. Given his love for the series this isn't at all surprising. It's also worth noting that fellow actor/nerd Rahul Kohli recently asked Cavill if he wanted to make a Warhammer series together, which would certainly suggest that the Midnight Mass star would be willing to pick up the phone for this one if Cavill came calling.
