GTA VI will be unplayable for millions of gamers across the world next year, with fans eagerly awaiting a specific announcement from Rockstar Games.
When Rockstar released the first trailer for GTA VI in December 2023, it was accompanied by a very vague release window of 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, with no mention of a PC launch.
Last week, to no surprise whatsoever, the studio announced that the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series will no longer be released this year but instead, will launch in May 2026.

It seems that practically every game released by Rockstar Games has been delayed, apart from a few exceptions, such as both of the first two Max Payne games, as well as Bully.
That being said, the proof is in the pudding when it comes to taking advantage of the extra development time with pretty much all releases from Rockstar, whether it's been developed or published by the brand, having knocked it out of the park.

We’d assume that GTA VI will be no exception in terms of quality and will be well worth the wait for patient fans of the series. However, some fans will need be more patient than most.
It’s been estimated that PC gamers could be waiting until 2028 for GTA VI to arrive on the platform.
“So, May 2027 for PC?” said Reddit user JohnSilver317, with exmachina64 adding the gloom, saying, “More like August 2030.”
While PC gamers had to wait roughly a year for Red Dead Redemption 2 to be released after it landed on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, GTA V was a wait of about two years.

I think the only silver lining is that we know it’s pretty much a guarantee that GTA VI will be released on PC at some point, but Rockstar Games is yet to make an official announcement.
For now, at least, Grand Theft Auto VI will only be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on 26 May 2026. That’s assuming it suffers no further delays.
