Earlier this month saw Rockstar shock the world when it released the second official trailer for GTA VI with no warning whatsoever.

After all, it had been well over a year since Rockstar released the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI back in December 2023 and since then, fans have been left with radio silence on the highly-anticipated game.

Check out the record-breaking trailer in question below!

However, their prayers were finally answered on 6 May when the second trailer was released, giving us just under three-minutes of the next Grand Theft Auto title.

We got to see more of our brand-new protagonists Jason and Lucia, as well as supporting characters and a more fleshed out look at the state of Leonida.

Not only that but Rockstar also added 70+ screenshots and video clips to a revamped website, giving us all a bit of respite from the key art we had been left with up until then.

As you can expect, the second GTA VI trailer rapidly hit records and at the time of writing, it has managed to amass an impressive 113 million views in less than a month.

This is an impressive feat in itself but it is even more shocking considering that the second trailer has nearly as many views as the Grand Theft Auto V trailer managed to reach in over 13 years.

To put it into perspective, the GTA V trailer currently has 122 million views and the GTA VI trailer, which has been out for less than a month I will remind you, already has 113 million.

There is no doubt that the brand-new trailer will catch up as fans are beyond eager to experience the next Grand Theft Auto game when it releases next year.

Over on r/GTA, fans were quick to share their thoughts about these impressive numbers.

“For a fact GTA 5 trailer had about 90M views before the first GTA 6 trailer and as y'all can guess GTA 6 trailer was the first one to surpass 100M views,” user SilentKiller107 shared.

However, another user thinks that these are just rookie numbers.

“Honestly? I’m shocked it hasn’t garnered more views on YouTube,” they admitted.

It may be a long time until we receive a third trailer for GTA VI but there is no doubt that in the meantime, its most recent release will have continued to meet record breaking numbers.
