It looks like Rockstar is almost entirely focused on Grand Theft Auto VI at the moment, with multiple projects reportedly being put on hold in favour of the upcoming sequel.
Last week reports surfaced that suggested the long-rumoured remakes of GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption have been put on hold. While it was initially suspected this was in response to the fan reaction to the god-awful Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition, it's since been claimed that Rockstar has decided it's time to put GTA VI ahead of everything else.
Rockstar itself acknowledged the pressure to deliver with GTA VI last week, announcing that it was stepping away from delivering major Red Dead Online updates to work on the follow-up to GTA V. The studio acknowledged that it understands “more than ever the need to exceed players’ expectations and for GTA VI to be the best it can possibly be”.

Given this, it's not a huge stretch to imagine the aforementioned remakes have been put to bed. It's also, sadly, not a massibe surprise to learn that the previously rumoured new-gen version of Red Dead Redemption 2 has also been canned.
It's long been believed that Rockstar is (or rather was) preparing an enhanced version of Red Dead Redemption 2 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. It had been claimed that this new version would take advantage of the new-gen hardware, offering faster loading times, improved framerates, and 4k resolutions. Alas, it seems this is not be.
Rockstar insider Tez2, the same insider who originally reported on GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption being canned, has delivered the sorry news.
"I've heard about [the Red Dead Redemption 2 port] a long time ago. As well as [Rockstar's] plan to come up with an Enhanced Rockstar Editor. All cancelled / halted now."

This obviously isn't the best news we've heard this week, especially given how ridiculously amazing I'm sure Red Dead Redemption 2 would look at 4K 60fps. Still, if all these projects are being put to one side for GTA VI, then I guess we can't complain too much.
