Unless you have been living under a rock, then you will be aware of the discourse surrounding the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI.
Hailed as the most anticipated video game release of all time, Rockstar has fans waiting on tenterhooks for its big launch.
If we look back, Grand Theft Auto VI was originally planned to launch in Fall 2025 before being delayed until 26 May 2026. More recently, it was pushed back to 19 November 2026 where it currently stands at the time of writing.
On top of that, it has been over 12-years since the last entry, Grand Theft Auto V, was released meaning that fans have gone well over a decade since they last got to experience a brand-new GTA story.

However, according to one industry insider, November’s release date should follow a particular formula, allowing all of us to access Grand Theft Auto VI together.
Shared by @videotechuk_ on Twitter, the post reads as follows:
“Rockstar should do a global release for GTA VI and completely skip local midnight launches for good.
“New Zealand is 12 hours ahead of the UK, it’s a ton of time for people to get spoiled on the 18th.
Let everyone experience the game at the same time”.
Would A Single Launch Time Work For GTA 6?

Ending the message with a direct tag to Rockstar, it seems as though this claim, now shared over on r/GTA6, has left fans feeling divided.
“There will definitely be insiders who get copies early, and a game being as big as this, it’s like Endgame or something alike where one would just have to stay off social media, turn off notifications, and not look at anything that could give one an ad.
“At that point, one should be fine,” one person shared, which is probably easier said than done.

“As someone from New Zealand, no,” another fan said simply.
With the general consensus being to just simply stay off the internet for 24 hours, it seems as though the same global release time is not being received well.
“It’s a good thought but it doesn’t work,” another user explained.
“Releases midnight locally - some people have access 12+hrs before others.
“Releases at a set time for everyone - Rockstar will probably base the time on America which means they can play all day while Europe will get a few hours before people sleep and New Zealand is screwed.
“Either way people get ahead. There is no winning.
“My opinion is midnight local time is best for everyone.”
In my opinion, we should worry more about another potential delay more so than what time the game may release at.
However, with just a few months to go until that 19 November deadline, it remains to be seen if Rockstar will stick to its latest delay.
