Ever since the first, and only, trailer for GTA VI launched 18 months ago, fans have wanted to know one thing above all else, when will the game launch?
Of course, we all want to see more footage from the game, along with some gameplay in action, but above all, fans want to know when they can hold GTA VI in their hands.
Has Borderlands 4 launch date forced the hand of GTA VI?
This has been a source of constant speculation online, across social media and message boards, all the while Rockstar Games has stayed quiet.

That could be set to change in the imminent future, as Rockstar Games’ parent company Take-Two prepares for their earnings call, and slots in release dates for their other games.
All eyes are now on Borderlands 4 which, yesterday, saw its release date brought forward from 23 September to 12 September.
Why is this important? Well, along with Mafia: The Old Country, it’s one of three blockbuster games in the Take-Two roster for 2025, along with GTA VI.
We know that Mafia is coming before September, according to scheduling rumours, and now we know Borderlands 4 is on the way in September.

This should leave October open for GTA VI, and with the other dates falling into place, an announcement could come pretty soon.
Fans are theorising that Borderlands 4 was brought forward to prevent any clashes with the most-anticipated game of the year, and that would make a lot of sense.
This would give the looter shooter more time in the spotlight before the world shifts its focus to Vice City and crime sprees.
It also gives Take-Two a hopefully profitable game in back-to-back months, making the business more profitable.

Randy Pitchford, head of Gearbox Software, has said that there’s no correlation between the two releases, but then, he would say that, right? RIGHT?
