We've got good news and bad news for those of you following the road to GTA VI's release.

The good news is that we did finally get an announcement of sorts this evening: GTA VI is indeed still on track to launch in its originally confirmed Fall 2025 release window (so between September and November this year).

The bad news? That was kind of it. It was perhaps unfair of fans to expect a new trailer, or screenshots, or even a concrete release date. But Rockstar Games parent company Take-Two Interactive essentially repeating what it's said in the last few earnings reports, with over a year passed since the first trailer, has not gone down too well - even with fans who are relieved the game is still coming this year.

"Trailer two is desperately needed next month at least," one fan writes on Twitter. "Are they purposely not showcasing too much of the game so that people will be surprised by how bigger it actually is at release? I guess we just have to wait."

Another added: "Can we at least get some new art or screenshots or anything? 14 months of being silent is very VERY ANNOYING."

"Until the game releases not gonna believe anything," another observed.

Yet as much frustration as there may be, the general consensus is that of overwhelming relief and excitement. For now, at least, GTA VI is still on track to arrive this year. A delay hasn't been 100 percent ruled out, but the fans seem too hyped to care about that just now.

"THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT! THIS ABOUT TO BE THE YEAR BOYS!" one fan enthused on Twitter. I've kept their caps for effect. Who am I to remove an excited gamer's caps?

For now, we just have to continue being patient. And, of course, look up at the moon every few weeks to see if it tells us when that second trailer is about to drop.
