GTA VI is set to release this year after all, despite growing concerns the long-awaited sequel would end up being pushed back to 2026.

In its quarterly earnings report this evening, Rockstar Games parent company Take-Two Interactive has once again reiterated GTA VI is still planned to release in its originally announced window of 'Fall 2025'.

This comes after months of rumours and fan concerns the game wouldn't be ready in time.

This, of course, means we can expect GTA VI to release between September and November 2025, though a delay is by no means off the table at this stage.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick told IGN ahead of the earnings report "there's always a risk of slippage," but added the company "feel really good about" 2025.

"Look, there's always a risk of slippage and I think as soon as you say words like absolutely, you jinx things," Zelnick responded when IGN asked how confident he was that Rockstar will hit fall 2025 for GTA 6. "So we feel really good about it."

He continued: "Look, I think the game is eagerly anticipated both internally and externally. We know that Rockstar seeks perfection. I never claim success before it occurs. I'm fond of saying arrogance is the enemy of continued success, so we're all running scared and looking over our shoulders and we know that the competition is not asleep. Our whole organization is super excited."

This is bound to be a frustrating update for fans who have now gone over a year without a second trailer. In fact, the only real updates we've had on GTA VI since the first trailer landed in December 2023 are variations on the above quotes from Zelnick. Rockstar "seeks perfection" and the game is still planned for 2025.

With this in mind, we can only hope we get a closer look at GTA VI in action soon. Lord knows the fans are really starting to lose it.
