We’ve now got just under a year until GTA VI finally sees the light of day, and while many are celebrating this fact, there are plenty who remain sceptical.

Not over the quality of the game, but over the potential pricing of it, as GTA VI could end up being rather expensive and testing even the most loyal of fans.

When fans heard about the possibility that GTA VI could sell for between $80-100, the reactions were split, with some believing the game to be worth an increased cost, and others seeing no way of playing.

Regardless whether the game is worth that kind of money, some fans simply won’t be able to afford it in the current economic climate.

So, over on Reddit, it’s no wonder fans are concerned, with one saying, “At $80 I would wait for a sale. At $100 I would set sail.”

I can’t tell if the latter half of that comment is the thought of abandoning the game completely, or simply resorting to piracy instead.

Swagtagonist agrees, commenting, “I’m just gonna say no thanks, Rockstar. $70 is my red line and I rarely go up that far. It has to be a major title for me to drop a full $70. If they drop at $100 I’ll probably never even play it.”

At this point, it feels as if industry analysts, who are predicting this shift in pricing, will end up forcing the issue, as publishers start to look at how much money they can get out of gamers.

One Redditor brings up an important point, “Game devs live in a cycle of constant crunch. If a higher price means better wages and better games, I'm all for it. If it's funnelled into a CEO's pocket, I’mma sail the high seas.”

Now we’ll probably have to wait at least another six months, minimum, before we get word on the price.
