Both Red Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto V begin in the snow and see our main characters fight for survival in all its variations as the weather takes a turn for the worse.
This seems to be a Rockstar Games staple and one fan over on Reddit's r/GTA6 believes that something similar may be on the horizon for the opening mission of Grand Theft Auto VI.
With it being just a few months to go until we finally get our hands on perhaps the most anticipated video game release of all time, fans are starting to feel the hype and in the meantime, have analysed what Rockstar has provided us so far in great detail.
At the time of writing, we have received two official trailers for Grand Theft Auto VI alongside a dedicated website and as a result, one fan believes they may have just worked out exactly how the game will begin.

“We can be almost certain GTA 6 will open with a storm,” Comprehensive_Cap611 shared.
Alongside a screenshot of protagonist Jason atop a roof seemingly fixing a leak, it seems as though this seemingly innocent moment may just hint at a much larger picture.
“Basically every Rockstar game opens with harsh weather to give a frantic setting to get you hooked before they send you out into the massive open world,” the post continued.
“Often, snow is used but in the case of Miami, a hurricane is much more likely.

We also get a shot in trailer 2 of Jason fixing his house. I think this could follow a storm.”
This may not be an action-packed start to any game but it would certainly make sense based on the footage we have seen so far, especially as Rockstar has confirmed that some snippets of gameplay were included in the second trailer.

GTA 6 could go big
As the original poster also pointed out, this moment could also introduce us to secondary character Brian who will no doubt be giving Jason menial tasks to complete ahead of getting into the bigger missions that we expect and love from Grand Theft Auto.

Whether GTA VI will begin with a storm is still unconfirmed but fellow fans were quick to share their thoughts.
“I don't agree that "every" Rockstar game opens with harsh weather but I think it would be cool if a hurricane was a major plot point,” one user suggested.
“They could definitely use a post-hurricane setting as a way to put the characters in an area with a lot of obstacles that they have to navigate their way out of while in a shootout.”
Another user agreed with this train of thought, adding, “I hope there's a big build up to a storm incoming and a heist during the height of the hurricane landfall. Could be epic.”

It remains to be seen what the opening moments of Grand Theft Auto VI will bring us but there is no doubt that, if Rockstar’s standards are anything to go by, it will be incredible to say the least.
