As far as we know, Grand Theft Auto VI is set to launch later this year but with Rockstar keeping details close to its chest, fans are starting to worry.

Despite it having been well over a decade since the last Grand Theft Auto entry, Grand Theft Auto V, was released, Rockstar only revealed Grand Theft Auto VI back in 2022.

Check out the first official trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI below!

Posted on 4 February 2022, the studio released the following statement:

“Many of you have been asking about a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series.

With every new project, our goal is always to significantly move beyond what we've previously delivered. We're pleased to confirm that active development for the next entry in the series is underway.”

Since then, details have been pretty scarce other than the game’s first official trailer which was released in December 2023.

Despite a series of leaks being released online the year previously, this was the first official footage we had of GTA VI, showing us brand-new protagonists Jason and Lucia in a reimagined Vice City.

With no more official content since then, fans are starting to feel the frustration and Twitter user TGG even reposted Rockstar’s statement and said: “Happy 3rd birthday”.

It is hard to believe that it has been three years since Rockstar first revealed that GTA VI was in development but the lack of updates has left fans feeling frustrated and they took to the comments to share their thoughts.

“It's absolutely depressing when this is all we have,” user Zayac said.

RacingGage55 also put things into perspective when they commented, “I was 16 when this Tweet was posted and I'm gonna be 20 when GTA 6 comes out.”

It may all be doom and gloom but in good news, Take-Two Interactive will be hosting an earnings call later today which could spell some news surrounding the release of Grand Theft Auto VI…

  • No games should be worth £100, not even GTA 6
  • GTA VI's release could be a good thing for the video game industry
  • GTA 6 is far from the most interesting game we're getting this year
  • GTA 6 at $100 will not 'save' video games
