We already knew that the recent Grand Theft Auto VI trailer would reach never-before-seen milestones but we perhaps did not anticipate the actual heights it would reach.
Released without warning on 6 May, the second Grand Theft Auto VI trailer gave us another official look at what Rockstar had been cooking since its first trailer was released way back in December 2023.
Giving fans just under 3-minutes of brand-new content, viewers got to see new protagonists Jason and Lucia embark on their Bonnie and Clyde-esque adventure across the state of Leonida and beyond.

We saw the new regions, new characters, and even some snippets of gameplay hidden throughout and it is safe to say that the hype is stronger than ever.
How do we know this?
Well, you only have to take a look at the impressive numbers the second trailer has managed to reach.
Pointed out by user Bloubeblade over on r/GTA, the GTA 6 trailer 2 has nearly as many views in 13 days than Grand Theft Auto 5’s trailer received in 13 years.

At the time of writing, the Grand Theft Auto V trailer has 122m views whereas the second GTA VI trailer has 118k.
These numbers are incredible and it is no doubt that one day soon, the GTA VI trailer will take over the previous Grand Theft Auto entry trailer when it comes to sheer numbers.
User SILENTKILLER107 had another interesting fact to share.
“For a fact, the GTA 5 trailer had about 90M views before the first GTA 6 trailer and as y'all can guess, the GTA 6 trailer was the first one to surpass 100M views,” they posted.

However, another user is scared that the hype may not live up to the game when it is finally released.
“This game's gonna do so well, but I'm afraid it's overhyped and that the game's release won't meet some fans' expectations/disappoint them,” they admitted.
Well we don’t have that much longer to find out as Grand Theft Auto VI releases on 26 May 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
