Grand Theft Auto fans believe that a new feature may have been teased ahead of the GTA VI launch in the latest GTA Online update.

There’s no escaping the hype of the upcoming launch of GTA VI, whether you’re a gamer or not. Without question, Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto series is one of the biggest properties in the entertainment industry.

When GTA V launched in 2013 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, before being ported to other platforms across multiple generations, it garnered silly amounts of revenue for Rockstar Games, in large part, due to the microtransaction infrastructure of its additional game, GTA Online.

Other than its implementation of microtransactions, one of the main reasons why GTA Online continues to bring Rockstar Games all the money in the world is its constant flurry of free content updates, which keeps the cash-flowing loop going. Launch GTA Online, and people spend money. Release a major update, people spend more money and so on.

The GTA Online “Mansion Update” arrives soon

What’s more, GTA Online also allows Rockstar Games to test out new features that may not be possible in the single-player game, GTA V, such as the new ‘A Safehouse in the Hills’, dubbed by fans as the “Mansion Update”.

One of the main features of the upcoming update arriving in December is that it allows players to own even more luxury real estate in GTA Online. Some players hope that it will allow you and others to seamlessly enter and explore snazzy digitised homes in Los Santos.

“The new GTA Online mansion update may be testing a new tech for GTA VI”, suggested Redditor Pistoluislero. “It appears that the new mansions will have accessible interiors from outside, removing the black screen required to enter a property.”

“I'm wondering if separate players in one lobby that own the same mansion will disappear to each other once in the same zone, 'the new mansion in this case', so they can access their mansion from the outside without having the other players owning it appear in theirs. This is all speculation on my side, but it's interesting to think about.”

You’ve already built an empire. Now let Prix Luxury Real Estate erect your palace.

Fellow GTA fans, we’re keen to weigh in

“GTA Online has been a testbed for gameplay mechanics for a few years now,” replied bluAstrid, making a very valid point.

“In that case, I really hope it’s gonna be available in story mode,” said Clown_Wheels.

Hopefully, that will be the case.

“We'll need a house with a swimming pool and a gym!” demanded GhostInVice.

Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled for release on 19 November 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
