Is there such a thing as too long?

Grand Theft Auto VI is set to finally land next year.

Yes, next year. It’s hard news to miss but Rockstar Games recently delayed the game’s launch from fall of this year to 26 May 2026.

Take-Two’s CEO Strauss Zelnick has since explained though that there’s no reason to suggest that the game should need to be delayed a second time.

It’s simply a case of Rockstar Games being granted extra time to achieve their full ambition.

Of course, news of the delay still came as a great disappointment to fans but that disappointment quickly evaporated when Rockstar shocked us all by dropping GTA VI’s long awaited second trailer.

Expectations surrounding GTA VI are sky high and dare I say it? Judging by that trailer, it’s already exceeding them.

You can view that trailer below.

We’ve got an in depth look at Jason and Lucia’s journey through Vice City and its surrounding areas, but that’s not what I’m here to talk about today.

Nope. Instead, I want to address the game’s length as fans have taken to discussing how long they’re hoping Jason and Lucia’s main story will last.

Personally, I’d love something in the 30-35 hour zone, with side content taking us up to the 70-plus hour mark.

Fans are slightly split, but the general consensus seems to be that everyone wants a chunky game.

“RDR2 was like 50 in story alone, and they let you easily get 100 [hours] on the other things in the game, so maybe GTA will be the same or slightly more,” wrote Reddit user PromimaxXxcentauri.

“Story somewhere around 40 to 50 will work great but hopefully a lot more side quests, activities, challenges and random encounters,” added Southern_Departure42.

“As long as possible. If the game and story is good, I've never played a mission thinking I really hope this is the last one,” commented Acceptable-Hat-7846.

Let’s be honest, we’re getting a massive game; that’s not in doubt.

GTA VI’s trailer doesn’t only tease a huge map, but perhaps even different states for us to explore.

Get those annual leave days booked in because this game is going to consume our lives.
