Installation files never used to cause me grief.

Alongside my beloved Fortnite, I was a ‘one single-player game at a time’ kind of person.

With this method, you can simply delete the game when you’re finished and install whatever it is you want to hit next.

I don’t live my life this way anymore, dearest reader; I haven’t for a long time.

These days, I end up taking on far more than I can chew.

Just yesterday, I had to decide whether to temporarily sacrifice the half-completed Assassin’s Creed Shadows or Star Wars Outlaws in order to make way for Astro Bot and its new levels due to drop today (I’ll come back for you Naoe and Yasuke).

Modern games are, more often than not, absolutely huge with file sizes well exceeding 100GB.

You’ll be lucky to fit five AAA titles on a PS5, which is exactly why Grand Theft Auto VI fans are feeling a tad tense ahead of the game’s launch next year.

We don’t yet know GTA VI’s exact size but given the scope of the world showcased in its trailers, I have a feeling that it’s going to be huge.

It’s something fans have taken to discussing.

“Could GTA VI be one of the largest file size games of all time?” Reddit user VewVegas-1221 recently asked.

“We already know it’s gonna be one of the most polished and deeply detailed video games of all time, and it will take literally years to discover everything this game has to offer. This begs the question … just how big will this piece of art be?”

They continued, “My money would be on 200+ GB day one with an added 60/80GB when Online releases.”

“Well, whatever size it will be, I'm ready,” replied Latter-Diet1127.

“Probably around 100-150GB,” added SonicTheHedgehog99.

I don’t think it’ll be anywhere near the biggest game file of all time - there are some stonky games out there.

You probably should, though, spend the next 10 months finishing off as many half-completed games as possible that you already have on the go.

The best thing we can do is set ourselves up to be ready for whatever comes.
