Industry insiders believe Rockstar Games will focus on a sequel to Bully once Grand Theft Auto VI releases.

Grand Theft Auto VI is still living rent-free in the minds of Rockstar Games fans, despite there being no real indication of when it’ll release, aside from teases from its publisher Take-Two Interactive.

The wait has been long and arduous so far, and while most are still scouring the internet for leaks and rumours, some are looking further ahead - specifically to what Rockstar will be working on after the game’s release.

Red Dead Redemption fans will likely be hoping for Red Dead Redemption 3, or an actual remake of the first game instead of the poorly received re-release that recently disappointed everyone. While a new Red Dead Redemption game would make the most sense, insiders believe Rockstar will instead resurrect a long-dead franchise, finally releasing a sequel to 2006’s Bully.

The rumour was shared by GTAVI_Countdown on Twitter, which said: “Bully 2 could be the next title from Rockstar Games after GTA 6 launches, according to an insider.” The source was none other than Tez2, a prominent leaker in the Rockstar Games community, who said: “Maybe, they will reconsider releasing Bully 2 after VI. It has been shelved, but it went [through two] years of active development."

Bully 2 originally went into development in 2008, but was unfortunately shelved in 2010 in favour of Max Payne 3. It reportedly featured an honour system similar to what was included in Red Dead Redemption 2. It was also three times the size of the original, and featured multiple enterable buildings.

Like any rumour, take this with a generous helping of salt, as nothing has been officially confirmed by Rockstar Games.

The company has a track record of being very secretive about titles currently in development, so we likely won’t hear anything official until they drop an announcement video.
