GTA 5 is playable on mobile devices right now, here's how

Grand Theft Auto 5 is playable on mobile devices right now and we'll tell you how.

Despite releasing in 2013, Grand Theft Auto V is still one of the biggest games on the planet, largely aided by its multi-generation release and of course, GTA Online.

GTA V was initially released for PS3 and Xbox 360, before being ported to PC, PS4, Xbox One, and then to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. As you can tell, Rockstar Games has no issue milking its big cash cow until the release of GTA VI arrives. Especially when GTA Online continues to bring home the bacon with its flurry of microtransaction purchases from gamers with deep pockets.

Despite being ported to multiple platforms over the years, there has been no word or even a suggestion that GTA V would ever come to mobile devices. After all, surely it will never be able to run on iOS or Android devices, right?

Well, to our surprise, as reported by Gfinity, you can play Grand Theft Auto V on mobile via Steam Link. So, how do you play GTA V via Steam Link on your mobile? The process is relatively simple.

Firstly, you will of course need to own GTA V on Steam. Secondly, you need to download the Steam Link app to your PC and finally, pair it with your mobile device. Once paired, select ‘Star Playing’ and you should be able to select GTA V to begin causing chaos in Los Santos on your mobile device.

However, Gfinity mentions that playing Grand Theft Auto V on a mobile device isn't the most ideal way to experience this Rockstar Games classic. That being said, it’s still quite incredible nonetheless that we can do such a thing on such tiny devices.

In related news, Rockstar Games is apparently working on a new game that is not Grand Theft Auto related, and some fans are worried that they might die before GTA VI is ever released.

While a release date hasn't been announced for GTA VI, it is expected to be released for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S sometime between 2024 to 2025.
