That’s right folks, you’re reading that title correctly; we got Grand Theft Auto IV 2 before we got Grand Theft Auto VI.

Thanks to the efforts of some very talented modders, you can now explore Grand Theft Auto IV’s Liberty City inside Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto V thanks to the new Liberty City Preservation Project mod.

I’m not exaggerating when I say this almost looks too good to be real.

Honestly I’d still probably think it was fake if I hadn’t watched a bunch of gameplay videos of people exploring the mod, because what the modding team have managed to pull off here is incredible.

This is the entire map of Grand Theft Auto IV, ported into Grand Theft Auto V. It’s a fully realised port too, with all of the pedestrian behaviour and GTA IV-specific vehicles you’d expect to see.

Plus, there’s also a bunch of extra features the modding team threw in too - like interior locations, a fully operational public transport system (including trains and cable cars), and an option to fly to and from the new map directly from GTA V’s Los Santos. And, you can even send cars from both maps to one another.

By the sounds of things the mod is simple to install too, as it comes packaged with its own installer that makes the process foolproof.

If you aren’t convinced however, I highly suggest checking out this gameplay video from the YouTuber INTER.

Alternatively, the team behind the Liberty City Preservation Project also put out a trailer for the mod.

If you are convinced though, all you have to do is head over to the World Travel Discord server to download it for yourselves.

See you back here in 20 years when I get to write an article about the Grand Theft Auto V map being ported into Grand Theft Auto VI.
