GTA 4 remaster already dividing fans, and we get it

It's not what we thought it was

Rumour has it that GTA IV is getting a remaster, but fans are disappointed to learn it’s much less impressive than first believed.

GTA VI’s delay hit fans like a truck as many were excited to play the game on its original release date of Fall 2025, and while the delay is obviously for the best to ensure a quality experience it’s disappointing regardless.

We did get a second trailer though, and if it looks this good now imagine what it’ll be like with another year to cook

The disappointment surrounding the GTA VI delay was made slightly better when it was said a GTA IV remaster could be on the way this year to replace it.

As a huge GTA IV fan myself (it’s my favourite in the series) I was thrilled to hear this and was really hoping it was true, but apparently it’s not, sort of.

It’s now being said that it’s not a GTA IV remaster, but it is a re-release, which is only marginally better.

It will of course have some small improvements, probably HD resolution and all the DLC included but from the sounds of things it’s not very impressive.

Sharing their opinions on this, fans were pretty mixed on the news, with a Reddit thread featuring comments such as “praying it launches with a 60fps mode for PS5 that RDR got.”

Others were hyped regardless of whether it’s a remaster or not, like one who said “GTA IV and Max Payne 3 finally playable on current and past gen would unironically be a dream come true to me, loved Max Payne 3 and never got to play GTA IV.”

Take it with a pinch of salt as Rockstar hasn’t confirmed the existence of the re-release yet, but based on how random it can be it wouldn’t be a surprise to see it shadow dropped sometime this year.
