With all the excitement around GTA VI, and the sudden drop of the second trailer last week, it’s easy to miss that Rockstar Game could be working on other projects.
While everyone is laser-focused on the upcoming blockbuster, one community member and known leaker has mentioned that a GTA IV remaster should be on the way.
Are we going back to classic GTA before the sixth game launches?
Of course, fans are incredibly excited, and eager to get back to Nico Belic’s story, as it was a darker, more serious outing for the franchise.

The leaker, Tez2, notes that the remaster has been in development for over a year and could be set to drop this year.
On Twitter, fans are commenting their joy over the chances to replay this GTA classic.
“Hopefully for the Fall this year makes sense before Grand Theft Auto VI!!” exclaims one excited fan.
A remaster, or even just a modern port of GTA IV, would make for another way to build hype for the franchise before GTA VI launches next year.

This could also be seen as a way to appease fans who were eager to play the latest instalment before it was delayed to 2026.
“Please let this be real,” hopes another Twitter user.
This release would be a sure way to win over fans who would quickly dash out to buy the latest version of the game, especially if it was improved in some way.
“I'm buying this as soon as this gets released, I am NOT missing out on this,” says a GTA player.

There are some wondering if the game would cost the same as other new releases, causing some concerns, while others are eager to have a more convenient way to play the older title.
Long-time fans are seeing past the costs, and are simply eager to play as Nico again, with one fan saying, “My favourite GTA of all time getting a port is a dream come true.”
