Thor: Love And Thunder, the next chapter in the character's odyssey, has now wrapped filming and this hilarious photo from actor Chris Hemsworth has shed a little light on what is in store for Marvel fans.
As a continuation of the storyline set up in Thor: Ragnarok, the film will be drawing inspiration from the fourth volume of the comic books centred on the Asgardian. Penned by Jason Aaron and illustrated by Russell Dauterman, this sees Jane Foster worthy of carrying the mythological weapon Mjolnir and take on the mantle of Thor after the original hero is unable to. "This is not She-Thor. This is not Lady Thor. This is no Thorita. This is Thor," explained Aaron when this Thor was published in 2014. "This is the Thor of the Marvel Universe. But it's unlike any Thor we've ever seen before." In fact, actress Natalie Portman (who plays Jane Foster) agreed to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after a meeting with director Taika Waititi, as she didn't appear in Thor: Ragnarok. Waititi has also added that Thor: Love and Thunder is a romance, and with a plot that brings back the Guardians of Galaxy into the mix and introduces the king of the Greek gods, it's anyone's guess what's going to go down in the film.

Now that Thor: Love And Thunder has wrapped filming, it'll enter post-production shortly, and then the cast and crew will be welcomed back for interviews and promotions. After the pandemic threw a right royal wrench in the entertainment industry, even the smallest of announcements feel like a victory. Well, Chris Hemsworth is hardly one to do things by halves, and his post to Instagram breaking the news is no departure from the norm. "That's a wrap on Thor Love and Thunder, it's also national don't flex day so I thought this super relaxed photo was appropriate," wrote the actor, and in the photo, he's dressed in jeans and a white vest that totally doesn't show off his arms and chest. Totally. Next to him is Waititi, posing in costume as his character Korg, with the alien's face suspended on a pole above his head.
"The film is gonna be batsh*t crazy off the wall funny and might also pull a heart string or two," continued Hemsworth. "Lots of love, lots of thunder! Thank you to all the cast and crew who made this another incredible Marvel journey. Buckle in, get ready and see ya in cinemas!!" Thor: Love and Thunder is coming to theatres on May 6th, 2022.
