NGL here, I'm genuinely one of those people who falls into the category of, Has To Google Logan Paul To Make Sure He's Talking About The Right Brother. Logan and Paul, Paul and Logan: both have done the YouTube thing, both have boxed, and both have been in films. And after a quick internet check, I am sure I've the right brother, here. I think.

Logan Paul loves Pokémon. Did you know? His YouTube channel features several videos about the Trading Card Game featuring the famous pocket monsters. Well, it has four on it, including this latest one; and they're all hooked on the value of the Pokémon cards - how much Paul has spent, and what cards he's got for that outlay. Classic Rich Person Flex, but y'know, also a bit relatable and nerdy too.

And we love Pokémon here, too, so these vids have streaked onto our radar with all the subtlety of a fuzzy Pikachu stirring your fizzy pop with his lightning-rod tail while you sip at its electrifying bubbles. And fresh from spending $150,000 on a single Pokémon card, Paul has now documented his splashing of two million bucks on several of the cardboard investments, including a few first-edition boxes dating back to the late 1990s. Someone's got to, I guess. We need the content.

The 10-minute video features, in no particular order: people shouting, sometimes completely incomprehensibly; archive footage of other people saying Pokémon is, like, bad and stuff; Paul opening packs of cards, leading to further incomprehensible screaming; many expensive pieces of cardboard; and a fair amount of inessential travel during a global pandemic.

Watch it for yourself, on YouTube or below:

IDK about this stuff. Lots of not-very-social-distance-y action in this. Hugs and handshakes. Maybe this is all one giant Pokémon support bubble? Maybe rich Americans think they're above a deadly virus? Who can say for sure. But seeing people crowded together, with masks pulled down below their mouths? Yeah. Not into that, not one bit. Maybe it's all good. Maybe everyone's tested. Maybe they all isolated for the recommended time, and hopefully nothing nasty came of Paul's adventures. But it's still a Really Bad Look, right now.

Paul ends his video with the announcement that he now has the most valuable Pokémon collection in the world, and that he'll be opening one of the first-edition boxes his $2m acquired on February 27th. That's Pokémon Day, marking the release of the series' first video games, Red and Green, 25 years ago. And yes, we'll be running some themed content ourselves, on GAMINGbible, at the end of February.

In totally related Pokémon news, the TCG is heading to McDonald's, and the world's biggest Pokémon card truly is a giant.
