As if we weren't excited enough about the game already.

There are those of us that play games for mechanical skill reasons - I mean who doesn't like to know they're a better fighter or shot than another person on the internet right? And then there are the gamers that live and breathe for stories. Tales that draw the player in and grab such a hold of them that they can't help but want to relive it again and again. One such title that has this hold on many is 2018's God of War. Now, it seems that we should already be excited for the tale God of War Ragnarök has to tell, as its ending is supposedly "surprising" yet "inevitable".

In an interview uploaded by IGN (via TheGamer), the God of War Ragnarök team has already hinted at the story arc of the game. Eric Williams, the director of Ragnarök took time to discuss the highly anticipated title after the reveal of the trailer and spoke about how he wants to make sure that it's both an "epic and heartfelt" story.

Here is the trailer for God of War Ragnarök...

At the centre of the tale is of course Kratos and Atreus, and their relationship. Though it's an action-packed tale, of course, there are a lot of emotional moments and bonding that we're going to experience. Both the mythological and wondrous will be explored, as well as William's fondness for "slide-of-life" world-building. But when it all comes together: "we just want to have an ending that feels very surprising yet inevitable based on all those things."

Sounds like when we're playing the game we're going to feel like we know where it's headed. And even if we might not like it, or we might think that the team wouldn't end it in that way, Santa Monica Studio is going to follow through. Hmm, interesting.

It was revealed not long ago by Christopher Judge that Ragnarök had been delayed because of him. Though Santa Monica Studio had not publicly revealed this information, the actor thought to come forward and speak about his physical condition and the procedures he needed which halted the game's development for a time. He praised the team for letting him heal and come back to the role without any pressure.
