The latest update for Call Of Duty: Warzone is here, and it's very much a good news/bad news kind of situation.

The bad news is that the incredibly popular 200-player battle royale mode has been removed, after being in the game for nearly two weeks. This isn't exactly a massive surprise, given that it was also billed as a special limited-time mode, but we're sorry to see it go.

Fortunately, the sting of the 200-player mode's removal is tempered somewhat by the fact that a couple of other fan-favourite modes have been added back into rotation. BR 200 has been replaced by the good old-fashioned BR Quads, and BR Stimulus Trios has also been added to the mix.

BR 200 was added to Warzone at the end of last month as part of the massive Season 4 Reloaded update. It was the battle royale's biggest mode to date, supporting a whole 50 extra players per game. There's every chance that it could one day return as a more permanent fixture, perhaps replacing the standard 150-player matches... but we'll have to wait and see.

Looking a little further ahead, it sounds like Season 5 - expected in early August - will introduce some significant changes to the game's map. Multiple reports claim that Verdansk Stadium will finally open up and allow players to explore inside. It's also been suggested that a 'loot filled train' will will be introduced to the game, which constantly circles the map during matches.

Evidence for both of these additions have since been backed up by dataminers, so it's looking pretty likely. Interestingly, eagle-eyed fans have also spotted evidence of a potential Black Ops crossover while going through the game's files.

A number of audio clips in the game imply that Black Ops' protagonist Frank Woods is coming to Modern Warfare and Warzone as a playable Operator. There are also separate files that reference Black Ops' ascension, as well as the string of numbers from the opening of the original game.

All of this ties in to a recent fan theory that Call Of Duty 2020 will be a Black Ops reboot that, strangely, focuses on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. There are interesting times ahead for Call Of Duty, clearly.
