Game of Thrones star says show "fell off" at the end

Maisie Williams (Arya Stark in Game of Thrones) has admitted that she thinks the show "fell off" at the end, despite a strong start.

The first season of the Game of Thrones spinoff, House of the Dragon, came to a close earlier this week after 10 explosive episodes. It’s far from over though, as A Song of Fire and Ice author George R.R. Martin has stated that it’ll take four full 10-episode seasons to do the spinoff justice, so get ready for that.

Back to the original show though, and it’s been three years since the eighth and final season graced our screens. Many fans weren’t particularly happy with the way things ended, and probably prefer to push the memory of it far, far away.

Take a look at the trailer for House of the Dragon below.

Now, as reported by NME, Maisie Williams (AKA Arya Stark) recently discussed Game of Thrones' ending herself, and yeah, she wasn’t too impressed, either. Speaking to her brother during a Twitch livestream, she explained how for a lot of time, she wasn’t able to keep up with watching the show because she was too busy working on it. However, she thinks that the series started great, and she’s proud to be a part of it.

“Honestly, it kinda popped off,” Williams said, in reference to the beginnings of the show. “And I for the longest time, I was so like… I could never see it, from the outside. I could never like say that and understand it, y’know?

“And it feels good to be proud of it, that was ten years of my life,” she continued. “It definitely fell off at the end, but it started really strong.”

It was recently confirmed that Isaac Hempstead-Wright (AKA Bran Stark) actually thought that the finale's script was a prank when he first read it. “I genuinely thought it was a joke script and that [showrunners Benioff and Weiss] sent to everyone a script with their own character ends up on the Iron Throne,” he explained. “’Yeah, good one guys. Oh s**t, it’s actually real?’”
