'FIFA 23' Accidentally Sold For Six Cents, And EA Are Letting People Keep It

The release of FIFA 23 grows ever closer, which happens to be the last game to use the FIFA branding. FIFA 23 is set to feature a female cover star for the first time and you’ll be happy to know, career mode has been completely overhauled. The game will launch on 30 September so with just weeks to go, fans have been pre-ordering the title and some have nabbed the game for a record price.

Check out the FIFA 23 trailer below.

It turns out that EA accidentally listed the FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition for the equivalent of just six cents on the Indian version of the Epic Games Store. The Ultimate Edition should cost $99.99 (£89.99) but the game was listed with a 99.98 percent discount. The news quickly spread to Twitter and fans got their six cents pre-orders in.

You’d think that EA would refund fans but they actually emailed customers to admit the error and confirmed that they’d honour the purchase. EA commented on the blunder (via PC Gamer) saying, “A few weeks back, we scored a pretty spectacular own-goal when we inadvertently offered FIFA 23 pre-purchase on the Epic Games Store at an incorrect price. It was our mistake, and we wanted to let you know that we'll be honouring all pre-purchases made at that price."

That’s the pre-ordering equivalent of winning the world cup. Unfortunately, the rest of us are going to have to pay the full amount but you can get your hands on the standard version of the game for $69.99 (£59.99) which is perhaps going to prove the most popular option.
