Fans Blown Away By How Good 'Star Wars: Andor' Looks Compared To Other Series'

Users on Reddit are blown away at how majestic and high-budget 'Andor' looks compared to previous Star Wars Disney+ series.

Star Wars has had a good run on Disney+. Ever since the house of mouse bought the beloved franchise, fans were wary of what they'd do. Despite a few toxic fanboys, and an understandable disappointment about beloved storylines getting retconned, I'd say that, by and large, Disney has done a good job. This success story definitely has something to do with the series of TV shows premiering exclusively on Disney+.

While these series have been great, they don't often have an epic sense of scale to them. This was especially true with Obi-Wan Kenobi - the sets felt small in comparison to the epic scale we've seen in the movies. The trailer for the upcoming Andor, though, seems to show a different direction. Released yesterday, the clips show vast landscapes, huge cityscapes, and the gigantic senate room. If any of these synonyms for 'big' tell you anything, it's that this new series looks much more vast than previous Star Wars shows.

Check out the official trailer for upcoming Star Wars: Andor, coming to Disney+ on September 21st this year.

In the trailer, we see us a younger version of Rogue One's Cassian Andor causing mischief for the Empire, before he matures into the captain of the Rebel Alliance - played by Diego Luna - and finds his place and purpose in the galaxy. It's the origin story we didn't know we needed, and it looks fantastic, but users on Reddit were quick to point something out. It looks so cinematic.

User /ToastedSierra pointed out how odd it is that Disney seemed to pour their budget into this, rather than Obi-Wan Kenobi or the other Star Wars shows.

"Imagine giving this level of cinematography to the spin off show of a side character in a spin off movie," one commenter says, "when Obi Wan looked as cheap as it did." It's a good point, and it does make us think. But Obi-Wan Kenobi was still a fantastic show, and one could argue that with the acting talents of Ewan McGregor, you don't need any picturesque scenery.
