It is time to get that wishlist stacked ready for the new year and one title that combines elements of Fallout and Stardew Valley will be the perfect addition.

Lightyear Frontier is an upcoming open-world farming adventure by the developers at FRAME BREAK. Taking place on a planet on the far edge of the galaxy, you will climb into your mech ready to start your adventure with up to three friends as you “farm alien crops, build your own homestead and explore the untamed wilderness of the world”.

Set to release in March 2024, Lightyear Frontier will see you kick back and relax as you take in the sights and sounds of your new home alongside an “atmospheric cosmic country soundtrack”. Although you won’t have to worry about engaging in combat, you will have to keep an eye on your own needs and make sure you hydrate more than you do in real life (seriously, drink some water).

Your mech will be fully customisable so you can travel in style with the choice of an array of tools, upgrades as well as an assortment of paint and parts. This will be your friend as you explore this new island and manage its fragile ecosystem. You will need to clean up mysterious pollution, pull up invasive weeds and mitigate any impending disasters.

Additionally, you will need to keep your home sustainable which means replanting any trees you uproot to secure a thriving future. The work doesn’t stop there as you will need to find your inner green thumb and plant a diverse harvest, make sure they stay fed and watered and even exchange your plants for coin or other harvestable items.

You and your friends can also build your very own homestead to bunk up in after a hard day's work. With the choice of paints, upgrades and decoration, you will be able to make your home into a fully-fledged retro-futuristic farm in no time.

Lightyear Frontier is set for early access in March 2024 and you can add it to your Steam wishlist now! P.S, make sure to tell your Stardew Valley obsessed friends.
