Fallout fans roast PS2 sequel you've probably never heard of
And you've probably never heard of it because it's terrible.
Fallout fans have just discovered the existence of quite possibly the worst Fallout game ever made (unless we’re counting Bethesda’s Fallout 76 at launch).
Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel was, at the time of its release, a massive departure from the likes of the original Fallout and Fallout 2, as it’s got more in common with Call of Duty: Black Ops' Dead Ops Arcade mode than it does with an RPG.
Don’t confuse this one with the similarly named Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel by the way, because that’s actually a good game.
In a Reddit thread over on the r/Fallout subreddit discussing the game, several commenters chimed in with their experiences playing the title.

“They replace Nuka-Cola with Bawls Guarana soda and the sound track is heavy metal,” commented user canadianD, “Very early-00s kewl and edgy.”
“It's a top-downish shooter with RPG-ish elements, repetitive levels, and an aesthetic that isn't to most peoples' tastes,” replied user Jae-Sun, “It's more like it's aggressively mediocre than outright bad.”
As someone who has played this game, “aggressively mediocre” is an incredibly apt way of describing it.
Given its infamy I remember expecting way worse, but I’m not gonna pretend I had fun playing it (or that I even finished playing it for that matter).
Also, just a random aside, but one commenter in that thread said something I was completely unaware of; apparently Devin Townsend, the frontman for the metal band Strapping Young Lad, did the soundtrack for Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel.
In retrospect, that makes a lot of sense, because the only memorable thing about this game (other than it being incredibly mid) is the soundtrack.
Look, it’s a fun game to poke fun at, but do yourself a favour and don’t actually bother playing this one. Watch a playthrough on YouTube or something.
Or just replay Fallout: New Vegas and actually enjoy yourself instead.
