Fallout 5 Given GTA 6 Treatment, China Develops Nuclear Batteries

Preparation... preparation never changes

Fallout 5 has officially been given the GTA 6 treatment amid the news that China is actively developing nuclear batteries that can last half a century.

We’ve all heard this GTA 6 meme before. You know the one that says 'we got X Y and Z before we got GTA 6'. Tedious, but after two delays, the people do as they people must.

Well now, it’s happened to Fallout 5. In a nutshell, we’ve basically got Fusion Core-esque nuclear batteries before Fallout 5. The Wasteland has officially come to us.

Fallout fans are rejoicing this week with Amazon dropping the first episode of the second season of its live-action Prime Video series inspired by Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic RPG a day early. I suppose that’s great for those who are ready to go with Fallout season two, but perhaps not so much for those who now have a day less to get caught up with season one. But it is what it is.

Over the years, we’ve had some awful video game adaptations, such as all the Resident Evil live-action movies released thus far, as well as that Netflix series that was cancelled after one season. Not to mention the likes of Alone in the Dark, House of the Dead and Silent Hill: Revelation, to name a few.

Thankfully, however, in recent years, thanks to the Sonic the Hedgehog movies, season one of The Last of Us, and now Fallout, it feels like we’re turning a corner of positivity. At least for the time being. That all being said, I’ve gone on a bit of a tangent, so let’s get back to the topic at hand.

Will Someone Develop the Power Armour Next?

As brought to our attention on X, China has developed something called the ‘BV100’; a nuclear-powered battery that is the size of a coin. And it’s claimed that it can provide continuous power for up to half a century.

“We're rapidly moving towards a dystopia, it's just not decided if it's Cyberpunk, 1984, Fallout, or Metal Gear,” one user replied to the post.

“Should I start keeping every cap I find just in case?” asked PortalMasterEdd.

In Fallout, the Fusion Core is pretty much the same thing as the BV100.

It’s a nuclear battery used by the military to power weapons such as the Power Armour, stations, vehicles, and whatnot. Civilians use them too, but not with the intention of having an all-out war, or at least I hope.

The first episode of Fallout season two is available now on Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service, with new episodes releasing weekly.

The eighth and final episode will air on 4 February 2026, and then the wait for season three will begin.

As for Fallout 5, at the time of writing, we have not been treated to a trailer or a release date. We’ll update you as soon as that information drops.
