Fallout 4 fans divided over final update for game

At least they've figured out when it's going to drop

It’s been almost a whole year since we last received any kind of official update for Bethesda’s 2015 RPG Fallout 4, but fans seem to think they’ve figured out exactly when we’ll be getting our final patch for the game.

It’s no secret that fans are desperate for any kind of Fallout content right now, mostly because the franchise is more popular now than it’s ever been.

Between Amazon’s Fallout series coming back for its second season and Fallout 76’s incredible comeback story, hype is at an all-time high.

And yet, we’ve not heard a peep out of Bethesda regarding the most recent mainline entry in the series, Fallout 4, since the “next-gen update” for the game dropped in 2024.

However, fans on the r/fo4 subreddit think one more update is coming– and they know when.

“In my opinion… very likely. Fallout 4's 10 Year Anniversary is 10 November, 2025,” commented user One_Individual1869.

“I would literally crap in my pants if Bethesda doesn't do something for the anniversary. My guess would be they pull a Skyrim and package all the DLCs+Creation Club Content together and sell it as an 'Upgrade' for like $20.”

“I doubt an update... But maybe a couple patches for the 'Next Gen' update as there are still some issues/glitches,” replied user Powerful_Mortgage787.

“They also might do another repackage of the game. After all, it's now a new year so they need to do another GOTY release. LOL! But I'm betting closer to the release of the second season of the Fallout show.”

I think it makes sense for Bethesda to drop an “Anniversary Edition”-style re-release for Fallout 4, much in the same way they did for Skyrim, but whether or not they have the time to do so is an entirely different issue.

Considering they’re assumedly pouring all of their resources and manpower into The Elder Scrolls VI at the moment, I’m not sure if they have enough spare time to allocate to an update of that magnitude.

Here’s hoping we hear more closer to the release date of Fallout season 2.
