Elder Scrolls and Star Wars Collide in This Insane Skyrim Expansion

Star Wars fans can now live out their Jedi (or Sith) fantasy in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Skyrim has consistently proven to be the game that keeps on giving, as many modders and creators over the years have added to the game with custom content to extend its lifespan.

A modded save of Skyrim now can look dramatically different from playing vanilla, and it’s the biggest reason that keeps fans coming back for a new playthrough.

Now, Star Wars fans are getting their turn, as shared by one fan on the Skyrim Reddit page.

“The Sith have arrived in Skyrim,” posts Reddit user Thin-Coyote-551, showing off a video of the player character brandishing a red dual-bladed lightsaber, before fighting a group of frost trolls.

“Found something called a holocron and now is learning the way of the Force,” the post continues. “Just built this one’s first lightsaber and had to test it out. This one thanks the Trolls for volunteering as tribute, ahem research volunteers.”

The mod in question appears to be this one, titled Lightsabers (Magicka Sabers). It adds a variety of different Star Wars-style lightsabers to the game for use in combat.

The colours of each saber range from the common blue, green, red colours, to other colours seen less throughout the Star Wars films like purple, yellow, and white. It also includes custom mechanics and sound effects.

What it lacks, however, is dismemberment. Considering Star Wars games have come under criticism in the past for not featuring dismemberment with regards to lightsaber combat, it’s something that one user quickly pointed out was missing, and offered a solution.

“Trust me if it's compatible and works with the rest of your mods, it's absolutely amazing watching your enemies limbs flying off,” reads a comment underneath. “There are also some neat features in there like slow mo dismemberment.”

Considering the scope of some Skyrim mods and fan-made expansions, it’s surprising that nobody has attempted to create an entire Star Wars game inside the Creation Engine.

The closest might be Star Wars Redux 2022, which is a total conversion mod which adds various weapons, armours, enemies, and items from Star Wars into Skyrim. However, rather than making it a brand new game, it’s simply intended to slot alongside the rest of the base game.

You can download Lightsabers (Magicka Sabers) from Nexus Mods now for all PC copies of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition.
