Elder Scrolls 6 Hopefuls Left Divided by Mysterious Setting Tease

Don't get your hopes up.

Elder Scrolls fans have been left hanging dry after a new post by Bethesda, with some believing it could be an Elder Scrolls VI tease.

It’s been seven years since that rather nothingburger announcement where Bethesda revealed The Elder Scrolls VI was in pre-production.

Fans are getting pretty desperate to know more about the upcoming sequel, but it might take some time before we get anything concrete.

Despite that, one fan reckons they’ve discovered a hidden teaser for the potential setting of our next Elder Scrolls adventure, as posted on Bethesda’s Italian Facebook page. Yeah, I’m sceptical about it too.

Bethesda’s Italian Facebook posted a short video from The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered showing an area in the Gold Coast. You can see Kvatch off to the right and some mountains in the background.

The mountains appear to be in Valenwood, a region located to the south of Cyrodiil and is home to the Wood Elves.

Although Hammerfell and High Rock has been the prevailing theory for The Elder Scrolls VI’s setting, some believe this new video released by Bethesda could hint at something else.

We’re sceptical though. The video focuses more on Kvatch, which is under a Daedra invasion at the beginning of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

Considering the video has the caption “What is going on over there?”, it seems like Kvatch might be the focal point of this post rather than a mysterious Elder Scrolls VI tease.

“Alright so I was on Facebook and saw this,” writes one member of the Elder Scrolls VI Reddit page. “Kvatch is to the right, so player character is facing the Hammerfell border according to a map of Cyrodiil. Accompanied by the caption…could this be a tease?”

Although OP points out Hammerfell, we should clarify that the view of Kvatch is actually facing the south, as you can also see Skingrad on the left-hand side of the screen. So, the mountain in the background actually belongs to Valenwood.

It seems the comments in the post are also not convinced by this theory.

“What if it’s just hinting at Kvatch?” writes one user, also posting a facepalm emoji. “Like the burned city that any new player to the game would generally see in the distance and think, ‘Oh sh**, why is this city all f***ed up?’”

“Yeah they would tease it in f***ing Oblivion Remastered,” jokes another fan. “The next trailer is going to be recorded in Morrowind.”

Yeah, I’m thinking we just have to admit this one is pure copium, folks.
