The Elder Scrolls 6 can wait, this Elden Ring first-person mod is a game-changer

It feels like a whole new game

I honestly sympathise with anyone out there waiting for The Elder Scrolls VI. The game was, after all, officially announced way back in 2018. So it's not like people are clamouring for a game they have no right to even suspect exists.

Still, the harsh reality is that we're still in for a quite a wait when it comes to The Elder Scrolls VI. But all this means is that we'll have to find other, similar games to fill that void while we wait. And believe you me, there's a hefty selection.

One recently released RPG is actually 5x bigger than Skyrim. That should scratch your itch. Then there's another rival to The Elder Scrolls VI in development from some of the creators of the entire Elder Scrolls series!

If these don't quite tickle your Daedric pickle, allow me to instead point you in the direction of an Elden Ring mod that converts the entire game into first-person. Make no mistake, this one sweeping change transforms Elden Ring into an entirely new game, and will definitely scratch that Elder Scrolls itch.

First Person Souls, which you can grab on NexusMods, does pretty much what you'd expect. It is, of course, no mean feat to take a third-person game built entirely around combat and convert it to a new perspective, which makes the work done here all the more impressive.

To install this mod and try it out for yourself, just head over to NexusMods and follow the installation instructions.

If you're anything like me and relatively new to PC gaming, you might find yourself put off by the idea of even trying to install mods. But what I'll say is that I'm an idiot and I've managed to work it out, so I reckon any other newcomers to the world of modding will be just fine.
