It has been a long time since Elden Ring fans have received any new content. With the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC yet to receive a release date, it is up to fans to find new and inventive ways to stay in the Lands Between.

Despite it being over a year since it was released, Elden Ring is still loved as much now as it was back in February 2022. The FromSoftware title went on to win Game of the Year at The Game Awards and was praised for its unique storyline, epic boss battles and expansive world.

Check out this epic build in Elden Ring below!

With the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC announced in February of this year, fans were excited to hear more but with radio silence since then, it may be a while before we see its appearance. Luckily, modders are on hand to bring new and exciting content to Elden Ring including the Dark Moon mod which is basically the equivalent of an entire sequel. Most importantly, it’s free.

The Dark Moon mod by auramalexander on Nexus Mods is “an overhaul focused on new content and fashion souls, based on Elden Ring.” With a whole Wikipedia page dedicated to all its features, the creator has given us a rundown on what you can expect. This includes new armour, weapons, items and spells, huge updates to character creation, new mechanics, new boss encounters, a combat overhaul, new merchants and more.

As you can see, this mod will completely revamp the base game and not only that, but it will pair excellently with mods such as Resurrection which features a long list of improvements to any niggling issues still in the game.

With Shadow of the Erdtree somewhere in the distant horizon and mere rumours of Elden Ring 2, it may be a while before we see any official content from FromSoftware. However, luckily modders are up to the task.
