Cyberpunk 2077’s 2.2 Update launched across all platforms yesterday, much to the surprise of fans.

Arriving alongside improvements to photo mode, new vehicles and customisation, over 100 character customisation assets and even more appearances from Johnny Silverhand himself, was another happy surprise for Cyberpunk 2077 fans - a treasure hunt.

Check out the next-gen update launch trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 below!

During the REDstream, which is where we received our first look at Update 2.2, CD Projekt RED developers made the claim that the new patch had plenty of secrets to discover.

Not only that but they dropped the news that there were still secrets and features hidden throughout Night City that have still not been discovered since Cyberpunk 2077 was first released back in 2020.

As a result, fans have booted up the game and are in search of these Easter eggs and one has already been found.

Courtesy of Update 2.2, a nod to Balatro has been added to the world of Cyberpunk 2077.

For those who don’t know, where have you been? But also, Balatro is a 2024 poker-themed roguelike deck-building game which also happens to be a contender for Game of the Year at the upcoming Game Awards.

Now it has appeared in Night City.

Shared by Twitter user Synth Potato, upon launching Cyberpunk 2077 after the new patch, players will receive a text from somebody called Jim B.

You will know who it is as their avatar has art taken from Balatro itself.

They will ask you to find a gang of Jokers that have escaped and can be found throughout Night City.

It is then your job to study the images of the rogue members and hunt them down.

As to not spoil the surprise, we won’t share the details of the hunt here.

However, Twitter user Vinal became the first person to complete the Balatro-themed challenge and shared their reward on social media.

With one mystery already uncovered, it remains to be seen what else has been added to Cyberpunk 2077 courtesy of its brand-new patch.
