Cyberpunk 2077 fans have to check out this wild new RPG

Journey to a futuristic Berlin

Project Orion, Cyberpunk 2077’s upcoming sequel, isn’t set to land anytime soon.

That’s because CD Projekt RED likely has its hands full with the recently unveiled The Witcher 4.

Of course, there’s nothing stopping us from exploring Night City for the umpteenth time, or expanding it via the world of modding but sometimes, something new is required to whet one’s appetite.

Well, that’s where Neo Berlin 2087 comes in.

Developed by Elysium Game Studio, Neo Berlin 2087 is both a first and third-person action RPG set in a cyberpunk-esque sci-fi world.

Admittedly, the game remains without a release date so it’s not something we can access immediately.

It will, however, be landing before Project Orion which is most likely a next-gen title.

Take a look at Neo Berlin 2087 in action below.

“A unique, third- and first-person action role-playing game; a deep, cinematic detective thriller that takes place in a dark future vision of Berlin,” the synopsis teases.

“Solve a far-reaching conspiracy on an emotional cyberpunk journey about justice, friendship, love, guilt, sacrifice and betrayal.”

The story begins with the murder of the head of Berlin’s police.

You’ll assume the role of Nolan, a detective with a troubled past who’s tasked with safeguarding the police chief’s daughter, Natalie, who could hold the secret to understanding her father’s killing.

It’s a case that’ll, somehow, affect “the entire city”, with Nolan and Natalie realising “that their fates are intertwined in ways [they] could never have imagined”.

As well as traipsing through the neon-lit streets of futuristic Berlin, your journey will also take you to the “wasteland”, a place that’s home to outcasts and malfunctioning, sentient machines.

As I mentioned earlier, you’ll be able to utilise both first and third-person points of view, with combat allowing for both stealthy and head-on approaches.

I have to say, Neo Berlin 2087 looks both incredibly polished and incredibly janky at the same time.

Of course, it’s some way off from release - plus it’s captured my attention regardless of which way it eventually swings.

Neo Berlin 2087 is slated to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PC.
