CD Projekt RED surprised us all back in December with news of its 2.2 update for Cyberpunk 2077.

An update is hardly shocking news but considering the studio had previously stated that it had wrapped up development for Cyberpunk 2077 in order to turn its attention to its sequel and The Witcher 4, it was a very happy surprise for fans.

Check out the Cyberpunk 2077 next-gen update launch trailer below!

As a result, players both old and new have been heading to Night City to experience CD Projekt RED’s hit RPG and because of this, hidden features are still being discovered.

That was the case for illicitchaos_ over on Twitter who stumbled across a heartbreaking Easter egg after the tragic events which saw Jackie Welles lose his life.

“You… you can call and leave Jackie voicemails…”, they posted, alongside two videos showing the different dialogue options available.

For those who didn’t know, V is able to call Jackie’s number throughout the rest of the game and leave voicemails for their departed friend.

According to BigfootThe2nd, V’s voice gradually breaks down the more that they call.

Upon calling Jackie’s number, V is able to choose between a variety of dialogue options which include talking about Misty, telling Jackie that they attended his funeral, explaining the events that took place after his death or deciding the whole call is stupid and hanging up.

“So, went to your funeral… God, that sounds weird to say, right?” The funeral option reads.

Mama Welles… well, her heart’s broken but she’s hangin’ in. She’s tough.

Lot of people showed, actually. Campo Orta sent someone too. Guy did read from a card, heh, but uh… you know, there was a lotta respect… ‘n’ warmth.

Wish you coulda see it, Jack. Sure you woulda liked it.”

This is just one of many heartbreaking moments that Cyberpunk 2077 has hidden beneath its dazzling surface and with the RPG being just four-years old, there is no doubt that we will discover more over the next few years.
