Charlie Cox's Daredevil Is Coming To The MCU, Confirms Marvel Boss

My boy is back

Following months of rumour and speculation, Marvel boss Kevin Fiege has confirmed that Charlie Cox will reprise his role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil in the Marvel Cinematic Universe going forward.

Cox played the crimefighting lawyer in Netflix's excellent Daredevil for three seasons. While technically part of the MCU, these Netflix shows never really properly referenced the movies and could easily have been considered part of their own universe (and depending on who you ask at Marvel, that's exactly what they were).

That's why fans were so concerned when Daredevil ended after a killer third series and the rights to the character ended back up with Disney. There were fears Charlie Cox would be replaced in the role in favour of a clean reboot. Fortunately, it seems this is not the case.

"If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming things, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil," Feige told CinemaBlend last week. "Where we see that, how we see that, when we see that, remains to be seen."

There are rumours that Cox will make his MCU debut in Spider-Man: No Way Home as Peter Parker's lawyer, though we'll have to wait and see whether there's any truth to this.

Between this and the increasing likelihood that Hawkeye is teasing the return of Kingpin, it's an amazing time to be a fan of Daredevil. I really wasn't sure we'd see Cox back in the role after the Netflix cancellation, so I'm over the moon at this particular news.

We've also heard that Daredevil is being revived for Disney Plus, though it's unclear how much of the Netflix show it will acknowledge. Hopefully all of it except for the second half of season two.
