Borderlands 3 is free to download and play right now

PlayStation Plus subscribers can now download and play Borderlands 3.

If there’s one thing I am certain about, it’s that we all love to download a free game. Sure, we’ve all got a never-ending backlog we’re likely never to see the end of but what’s the harm in adding one more title to that list? Especially if it’s free.

There is one small catch on this occasion. You need to be a subscriber to PlayStation Plus. I hear you. PlayStation Plus games aren’t technically free, just as Xbox Game Pass titles aren’t but there’s no denying that once your subscription fee is paid, there’s a ‘free-like’ thrill that comes with each new catalogue drop. This month, all subscribers can get their hands on OlliOlli World, Evil Dead: The Game, Destiny 2: Beyond Light, and Mafia: Definitive Edition. It’s extra and premium tier subscribers who are in for a real treat though as you can now grab Borderlands 3.

Horizon Forbidden West is also included in this month’s extra tier drop. This is honestly the best-looking game I have ever played. Take a look below.

Borderlands 3 originally released back in 2019. You play as one of four Vault Hunters, joining Lilith’s Crimson Raiders to investigate the Children of the Vault cult. A new-gen upgrade was released in 2020 and the PS5 version of the game boasts an impressive score of 91 on Metacritic. PlayStation Universe wrote, “Borderlands 3 goes from great to essential,” while Gaming Nexus added, “Make no doubt about this, this is the definitive way to play Borderlands 3.”

There are plenty more titles on offer this month. The extra catalogue is gaining Horizon Forbidden West (PS4/PS5), The Quarry (PS4/PS5), Resident Evil 7 Biohazard (PS4), Outriders (PS4/PS5), Scarlet Nexus (PS4/PS5), Borderlands 3 (PS4/PS5), The Forgotten City (PS4/PS5), Tekken 7 (PS4), Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown (PS4), Earth Defense Force 5 (PS4), Oninaki (PS4), Lost Sphear (PS4), I Am Setsuna (PS4) while premium is getting The Legend of Dragoon - PS1 (PS4/PS5), Harvest Moon: Back To Nature - PS1 (PS4/PS5), Wild Arms 2 - PS1 (PS4/PS5), and Destroy All Humans! (2020) (PS4).

I’m GAMINGbible’s resident Horizon Forbidden West stan so I’m going to recommend you pick that up. The Quarry is also definitely worth downloading. The devs didn’t meticulously craft Jacob’s abs for them to go unnoticed. Enjoy.
