It was Game of the Year in 2023 and shows no signs of slowing down almost a year later and now the award-winning RPG is currently available for free for PlayStation users.
Baldur’s Gate 3 was the smash hit release for 2023 that not only gained a legion of players but also went on to wipe the board at the end of the year Game Awards. Praised for its adaptive turn-based gameplay, interesting (and hot) characters and sheer scale, the third game in the Baldur’s Gate franchise will perhaps go on to become one of the best RPGs of all time.

Now seven months on from release and still racking in a healthy player base, Baldur’s Gate 3 is still alive and well despite the recent news that it would not be receiving any DLCs or expansions in the future. Not only that but the possibility of a Baldur’s Gate 4 is seemingly not on the cards for Larian Studios.
Despite the devastating news, players are still making do with the majesty of Baldur’s Gate 3 but for those who are yet to try it out, PlayStation is offering a massive deal.
PlayStation Plus Premium members can now get their hands on Baldur’s Gate 3 courtesy of its game trial service. Available to play for up to two-hours, the trial will give you the opportunity to try before you buy and with the game reportedly taking around 63 hours to complete (for just the main story), you will only get to scratch the surface.
The Baldur’s Gate 3 free trial is available via the PlayStation Plus Premium alongside other popular titles such as Hogwarts Legacy, The Last of Us Part 1, Alan Wake 2, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and more. With brand-new titles being added to the service regularly, it is just another reason to check out the monthly subscription service.
