Infamous Baldur's Gate 3 Bear Scene Has Lizard Follow-Up, Good Grief

I don't know whether to laugh or cry, my poor eyes

Baldur’s Gate 3 is a very, let’s say, fluid game. You can romance almost anyone you want, or should I say ‘anything’.

One of the game’s most infamous scenes concerns the boinking of a bear.

Well, if you’re being pedantic, the player is technically making love to Halsin, a powerful druid who in that particular moment transforms into a bear.

Even still, I’m sorry, it’s weird. For the virtual animal boinkers among you though, you’re going to be thrilled at Larian Studios’ latest Divinity tease.

By all accounts, the bear scene may be receiving a follow-up in the upcoming Divinity, announced during last month’s The Game Awards.

From Bears to Lizards

As spotted by GamesRadar, ahead of Larian’s ‘ask me anything’ session being held on Reddit, one fan tweeted the studio asking, “Can I f**k or be f**ked by the lizards?”

It’s quite the question and fortunately or unfortunately, depending on your level of freaky, the answer is potentially yes.

Larian responded using the 'well now I am not doing it' Pingu meme, replacing the text with, “I am doing it right now.”

Uh oh. What horror is about to be unleashed upon the world?

For context, as it’s fair to say that the upcoming Divinity will be a jumping on point for many people unfamiliar with the franchise, the series does indeed feature a race of lizards, hence the question.

We’re not talking tiny little fellas that waddle along the ground.

Lizards within the world of Divinity are an ancient, bipedal race, capable of using magic. They’re intelligent and honestly, look more like Avatar’s Na’vi than a real life lizard.

They’re pretty muscular beings and, oh god, does this sound like I’m trying to justify their boinkability?

Your honour, I’m innocent. I want nothing to do with this. Of course, there’s a very real possibility that Larian’s response was a tongue in cheek joke.

Personally though, I do see some merit in this. Baldur’s Gate 3’s romancing system was a major success, and it makes sense that Larian will want to emulate it somewhat within Divinity.

I personally do not yearn to boink a lizard, but I don’t particularly see why devs wouldn’t use it as a boinkable race.

It’s likely going to be a while until we find out.

Divinity was announced without a release date but it’s not expected to land any time soon, with many predicting at least two more years of development.

Perhaps we’ll learn more in the looming AMA.
