Assassin’s Creed Shadows players are unhappy with a freebie they just can’t seem to claim, sounds about right.

The latest Assassin’s Creed game has been quite the hit all things considered, as while there are still plenty of people out there slating it for its choice in protagonist and gameplay mechanics it’s scored very favourably compared to previous Assassin’s Creed games.

I’ve been playing it myself and think it could be one of the best Assassin’s Creed titles to date, but I’ll be reserving judgement until I’ve gotten to the end credits.

Anyway, those who bought the game on PlayStation are eligible for a little bonus in the form of two PlayStation Stars freebies.

I think we all know the deal with these by now, you either get some points that can be traded for in-store credit or a digital collectable that takes the form of something related to the game.

For Assassin’s Creed Shadows you can earn two of these collectables, the Iconic Hidden Blade and Samurai Sword.

To claim them you merely need to purchase the game and complete the prologue, but some fans like Reddit user tooyo1234 have done this and are yet to receive their freebies.

“When these came out, I went to claim them after the prologue but...problem is. I can't claim them!” read the post, and it turns out others have had a similar issue.

“I don’t know how to claim it but have had the same issue. Myself and others have contacted support and they haven’t helped at all. It’s annoying that they released the campaigns the day after the game was released.”

The problem for this user in particular was they didn’t start the campaign before playing the game, which means it doesn’t count, a very stupid discrepancy that really needs to be removed from the app.

The Xbox Rewards system would work better, where you’re automatically enrolled into challenges like this and are rewarded more naturally for your play time.
