We’re potentially just weeks away from the reveal of one (or more) new Assassin’s Creed titles, and fans are getting understandably excited. Although we don’t currently know exactly what’s going to be shown, we do know that Ubisoft will be “unveiling the future of Assassin’s Creed” sometime in September - many are assuming it’ll be during the Ubisoft Forward “multi-game showcase” on 10 September.
Take a look at the trailer for the newly added Assassin's Creed Valhalla DLC, The Forgotten Saga, below.
Fans have been speculating that the so-called “future” of the franchise might be referring to Assassin’s Creed Infinity - an upcoming live service game which will apparently take inspiration from the likes of GTA Online. The title has been confirmed to exist, but we’re still yet to see it in action, so a full reveal seems like a solid prediction for what’s to come.

Prior to that though, as reported by PCGamesN, one prominent industry insider, Jeff Grubb, has been talking about Assassin’s Creed on the Games Mess Decides podcast, and has revealed what he claims to be the location of an upcoming game (potentially Infinity), coming after Assassin’s Creed Rift - a currently unconfirmed title.
“I can’t confirm this, but since so much of this other stuff is true, and this other stuff I heard from the same source, the [game] coming up after all this other stuff [Rift], or maybe it is part of [Infinity], I don’t know, but it’ll be much more like the RPG ones, and it’s going to be set in Japan,” he said.
There’s no doubt that fans would love an Assassin’s Creed game set in Japan - one fan-made concept trailer blew up online recently, proving just that. However right now, this is all unconfirmed, so take it with a pinch of salt.
