Arnold Schwarzenegger says that he’s finally done with the Terminator movies.

Arnie, once a professional bodybuilder, turned Hollywood legend and former Governor of California is one of the most popular action movie stars on the planet.

Despite making his movie debut in 1970’s Hercules in New York, Arnold Schwarzenegger shot to stardom in 1982’s Conan the Barbarian before being introduced as the T-100 in James Cameron’s 1984 movie, The Terminator.

Arnie would star in other classics including Predator, The Running Man, Twins, Total Recall, The Expendables, and more. However, for most, it’s the role of the cybernetic organism that he is best known for, a role that he would return to on multiple occasions, the last being Terminator: Dark Fate in 2019.

At 75 years young, Arnie might be no spring chicken, but he’s still in great shape for a man of his age and during the generation of de-ageing software, some fans might live in the hope that the popular actors terminating days are not over with. Sadly, it seems that Arnie’s days of being a Terminator, have indeed been terminated.

As reported by GameSpot (via The Hollywood Reporter), when asked if he’d ever return to the Terminator series, Schwarzenegger said: “The franchise is not done. I'm done. I got the message loud and clear that the world wants to move on with a different theme when it comes to The Terminator.”

Despite being fond of the first few movies, the shortcomings of later entries look to be a contributing factor as to why Schwarzenegger is done with the role. “The first three movies were great,” he said. “Number four [Salvation] I was not in because I was governor. Then five [Genisys] and six [Dark Fate] didn't close the deal as far as I'm concerned. We knew that ahead of time because they were just not well written.”

So there you have it, Arnie will be the Terminator no more. That being said, do you think Schwarzenegger will be back as the T-800? Only time will tell.

In the meantime, if you can’t get enough of Arnie, he has an action-comedy series coming to Netflix called FUBAR on 25 May, as well as a new documentary series Arnold available now.
